Privacy Policy
The Ark Cycles hereby confirm that information and personal data submitted by you in relation to the processing of your order shall be collected, processed and stored in accordance with the requirements of personal data protection laws of the European Union as defined in the GDPR.
By submitting your data you agree that the data shall be processed and stored for the duration of the purpose indicated herein and in cases provided for by applicable laws after initial processing as long as it would be required.
Cookies
We use cookies and local browser storage to drive much of the functionality on the website. Without cookies, for example, you wouldn't be able to add anything to your basket. These are essential cookies and we don't offer a way for you to opt-out of these.
We use Google Analytics to help analyse how visitors use this site. Information is collected about which pages are visited, how long visitors spend on a page, where they're accessing the site from, and that sort of thing. The information is anonymous.
Tracking
If you opt-in to the use of tracking cookies, we will also send details of the products you've viewed and the contents of your basket to Google. This is used for remarketing, that's the term given to adverts you see on other websites related to products that you've viewed or added to your basket and didn't purchase.
Newsletters
All companies need to use marketing to let people know about their products and services. We send newsletters via email to let you know about new products, special offers, news, events and blog posts we think you might be interested in. We usually do this twice per week, and occasionally send an extra one if we've got something to tell you that just can't wait. We use MailChimp to send our newsletters and we include a working unsubscribe link in every one. We hate spam as much as you do and promise not to sell your email address.
Reviews
We love getting feedback from our customers, good and bad, and submitting a review is a great way of doing this. We partner with Google Reviews and TrustPilot to help us do this. Using a third-party service also means that customers can trust the ratings and know that the reviews are genuine.
Payment Providers
We collect and pass on some of your information to our payment providers when you make a purchase. The information we send varies slightly depending on whether you use credit/debit cards or PayPal for example, but will include your name, address and credit card details when making card payments, this helps to reduce fraud; and your email address, order details and delivery address when using PayPal. Other payment providers may be available depending on the country you're in but the details sent will be largely the same.
Couriers
We pass your name and address to our couriers so that they can deliver your purchases! Depending on the courier, we may also pass your telephone number and email address to them so that they can provide you with notification of parcel status and the expected delivery date of your parcel.
Your Data
You shall be entitled at any time to require an update of your data, information regarding use of your personal data, to object to processing, to request transfer of your data as well as to require deletion of your data by contacting us on the details provided.
If at any time you wish to be removed from our active databases, please contact us. You will be able to unsubscribe from our mailings at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of all our email communications. If you have an account with us you can also update your preferences on the My Data tab once logged into your account.
